Ok say I always knew people were wierdly crazed about celebrities, but its getting on the verge of ridiculous, and kind of boring. I sat down with lunch in my living room, and my sister of course turned on E! news.
It featured the most ridiculous headlines. "Who is Britneys new Man" "Charlie sheen engaged" "how you can look like a celeb"
Do people actually care about any of this stuff? I mean ok, i have a few favourite celebs myself but, come on, who actually cares that charlie sheen is pregnant or lindsay lohan is in rehab...??? Express your views on celebrity crisis....

I am an avid cinefile and just find these movies to be painful unmagical, awkward, contrived, but yet they keep making them and people seem to like them? Am I wrong about this one? Is there anyone out there who did not read the books but still liked the fims? I enjoyed the 7 Chronicles of Narnia books by CS Lewis yet hated the recent film adaptation....

I watch a film like "Pan's Labyrinth" which is truly intriguing and magical and poignant and scratch my head? Now this is a fantasy film.....your thoughts?

Very recently, TCM advertised the airing of The African Queen. When the airing day arrived, something else was shown instead. Then just last week, The Barefoot Contessa was scheduled, and even advertised right up to the same day..then another movie was shown in its place. I understand that stations have the right to change scheduled broadcasts without notice, but I do find it mysterious that in both instances both movies that did NOT air were those of Humphrey Bogart. Does anyone know what's going on?..AND why is it so hard to get copies of The African Queen on DVD????????????
I love TCM but since this has happened, I'm starting to wonder if it truly is a quality station or not.

with CGI and other special effects they could make a very graphic movie about the colosseum.
starting with the animal battles and slaughters in the morning, then the prisoner exicutions at lunch, a little bit of porn in the brothels then the gladiator battles in the afternoon, a typical day at the colosseum.
do you think a film like that would be a big hit?
IF such a film did come out what do you think would cause the most offence,
the animal cruelty, the pornography or the human killings?
YOUR THOUGHTS PLEASE.

I'm in a play set in that era and was wondering if you could help. I've already watched too many black and white films so I was hoping you could give me some made in the last decade but set in the golden era.
