Ok say I always knew people were wierdly crazed about celebrities, but its getting on the verge of ridiculous, and kind of boring. I sat down with lunch in my living room, and my sister of course turned on E! news.
It featured the most ridiculous headlines. "Who is Britneys new Man" "Charlie sheen engaged" "how you can look like a celeb"
Do people actually care about any of this stuff? I mean ok, i have a few favourite celebs myself but, come on, who actually cares that charlie sheen is pregnant or lindsay lohan is in rehab...??? Express your views on celebrity crisis....

E! New wouldn't exist if there's wasn't an appetite for it. More people know the status of Paris's life than that of the war in Iraq.
I don't think there's anything wrong with it though short of obsession of course. Sometimes real life is just too real and knowing that others with far more money have it just as bad or worse can make me feel a little better :)

It IS ridiculous, yet the media says that's what WE want. I have to wonder who WE are? If they have to do celebrity news, I would much rather watch a good, compassionate, realistic bio on some of my favorite celebs than the garbage that is thrown at us daily. Seems like such a waste of time and energy for the media to devote to such trivial matters........

It is stuff people like to see because most people don't live or look like the person they watch on t.v. Celebrities don't always last in the spotlight for long because it is just passing interest.

We all have things we obssess about. Some people it's sports figures, others it may be novelists, or musicians, or whatever. It's mostly fantasy. It's a way of saying, I wish I could be like them, or I am so much better than that. It's just fantasy, and a way to escape.

I know what you mean exactly...It makes me sick to think regular people treat "stars" like freakin' royalty or gods... I love to watch movies and some t.v but I would never act like some of those people do if I seen a famous person in real life...I mean have you seen how they act?...crying and acting crazy!...They are human just like us...Think about it (Paris Hilton fans) Do you think she would even **** on you if you were on fire?...I'm thinking Nope!...Get a grip people, you know who you are :-)
