I am wondering from reading JoYbOy's long, indepth and obviously knowledgeable answer to kirsty f's question re seeing Superman returns was a good idea; whether he and I saw the same movie? It was abysmal. A pale imitation of the original Richard Donner movies. Does anyone else agree with me, that is was boring, overlong and just not exciting like the orginal movies? That the set pieces were just that - 'set pieces' and not part of a movie and that Superman looked effeminate and ineffectual as the 'man of steel'? The action sequences as with a lot of modern day blockbusters were they not just too 'in your face' so you couldn't really get a perspective of what was going on ? And above all - the story - couldn't it have been condensed into something as long as an episode of Star Trek Next Gen. and nowhere near as interesting?
Film makers in Hollywood if you don't know how to tell a story anymore, I'll be happy to come over there and show you how - if you pay the airfare ?
