I have been an NCTJ qualified journalist for over a year now but have had little luck on the job front.

Media Agencies, The Guardian newspaper and publishing house websites have had a few jobs on them but competition is very tough and despite a fairly impressive CV I have had no success.

Unfortunately I can't afford to undertake unpaid work experience.

It seems most of these editorial jobs are given through contacts or via word of mouth.

Any suggestions?

Really cool magazine. Lots of sci fi fiction - may have been mostly fiction. seem to remember scientific stuff, too, though. Pretty sure it was a one syllable name. If you can help, thanks. This has been driving me crazy!
