I honestly have to say i think it was TRON.

1980-81 Disney and what would later become Pixar, worked together to build a movie that was shot totaly on a black back ground.
Every set, light, special effect, color, was added by computers.
This was a time when doing so was all by code. A technician could not see what was on the screen in front of him untill it was on film.
A computer could not handle showing these graphics.

If it wasnt for TRON and what was accomplished with so little, a lot of movies would not have been made.
