This man goes to a pet shop and finds a parrot with a green string on one of its legs and a red one on the other.

The man asks the shopkeeper what the strings are for. "This is a well trained bird" the shopkeeper said. "If you pull the green string, it will speak German, and if you pull the red string, you'll be able to make the bird speak French".

"What happens if you pull both strings?" the man asks.

"I'll lose my perch, fool!" says the parrot.

I have noticed on Answers etc that there seems to be some sort of American / Mexican rivalry going on... or, quite frankly, anti-Mexican remarks.
What is this all about? I'm not Mexican or American, so this one is baffling me a bit.

My mother is very hard of hearing and she has not been able to enjoy a movie in the theater for many years. I think they should make closed captioned versions of movies to be shown in special theaters for the hearing impaired. Sure, you can always wait til the movie comes out on DVD and rent it...but it's FUN to go to the movies....my mother is in her early 70's but just think about all the kids and teenagers who are hearing impaired who would like to go to the movies just like other kids their age...eat overpriced popcorn....have their tennis shoes stick to the goo on the floors.....watch that goofy ad with the dancing soda and the hotdog....all that junk! They have those head phones they can give you, but in my mother's case..her hearing loss is nerve damage...it doesn't really do anything except make the NOISE louder...it doesn't make the words clearer...and they do nothing for people who are completely deaf.
