OK, so I only saw one episode, but this has got to be the worst adaptation of 1984 imaginable.

The decision to update the setting was ridiculous: 1984 is about 1948! It doesn't even have anything to do with the 80s - it has even less to do with the beginning of the 21st century. Do producers think viewers can't handle a story that's not actually set in their own century?

Why all the ad-libbing? Orwell's language is a model of prose: how can some modern actor come close?

OK: I can see where the decision to update the themes came from, but the heavy-handed treatment of race was out of place. It had nothing to do with Orwell's vision for his work.

And why make Winston a woman?

Does anyone have an explanation for this travesty?

Please help.. It's kind of a remake of diana ross "I'm missing you.." I think it's a tribute to biggie or something the hook in the background goes "OOh.. I'm missing yooouuu, Ooh ooh I'm missing you..." Please can someone tell me who sings it and what cd it's in. I'm pretty sure 112 is in it. And no it's not "I'll be missing you" with p.diddy and faith and it's not sky's the limit either. Please help cause my friend is telling me that I'm wrong it's Master P and some other ppl singing it and I know for sure it's not him he doesn't sing slow songs.

latley it seems that i can't find any new good rock bands. Personally i like linkin park, breaking benjimin, three day grace, coldplay, crossfade, she wants revenge and trapt, but i have heard these songs so much that i have kind of gotten sick of them so if you know any good bands or songs please tell me so i can listen to them and not be stuck with the same boring and old songs. thanks.

Who exactly is it that decides which programmes get exported to the U.S. from the BBC and other networks like Channel 4 and ITV and which programmes don't?
There is a lot of great stuff that hasn't even been given a R1 DVD release, much less been aired on an American channel.
