Okay, this is a real obscure animated movie that I remember as a kid.

What I recall from the movie:

- About a male character who is a painter
- The villain had an army of evil walking swords and axes
- The main character fell into a hole where he was befriended by singing mushrooms and toadstools
- There was a forrest/woods that was destroyed by fire
