A man walks into a convenient store to purchase a few things. When he gets to the cash register the clerk, who is a pretty blonde, mentions that his fly is open. The man looks down an zips up his fly as if it wasn't a big deal. When he finished he looks at the clerk and asks "so did you see my big shiny cadillac?" and the clerk replies "no, but i saw your station wagon with 2 flat tires."

I've made my New Years Resolution - I'm giving up on dating for the next 12 months.

I've had nothing but bad experiences this year - almost every woman I've met shot me down. I only went on 2 first dates this year, and not one second date.

In a real way, I've already stopped dating - but it was due to the women I meet turning me down. So, if the dating thing isn't working for me, maybe it's time to stop trying!

It might also be the type of women I pick - young pretty women with toxic personalities. I do tend to have bad judgement when it comes to females - a pretty smile, a big butt and a pair of 36C's do tend to blind me to a woman's inner character.

In any case, it feels like it's time to give it a break, at least for a year.

Any thoughts?

Mine was great - I went to my neighborhood bar, had a few drinks, listened to some great music (they had a jazz band from 8PM to midnight and a DJ from midnight til 8AM) and I didn't even have to pay a cover (I'm friends with the manager - everybody else had to pay $ 30).

I have been a few times. When I was doing Psych 101 we got extra credit for being subjects for the grad students' research. I was once in a study to see how people learned sign language. It was great! If anyone is interested, the University of Pennsylvania has a great website and you can help with online research on happiness, learned optimism etc at www.authentichappiness.sas.upenn.edu I enjoyed being part of this research recently
