I've been to his website, and on the Grove music dictionary, but I have to write a 5-7 page paper about him and I can't find that much information. Any help would be appreciated!

Here's some info that I know already: He went to NEC, studied with Ran Blake and Jaki Byard, played with the Ellington Orchestra and the Mingus group, and recorded a lot of albums. (I know more than this but this is just basic info that I've found).

He was/is a comidic actor who reminds me of Dick Van Dyke, he would be around the same age, he has a moustache and googley eyes. He tended to play oddball characters and I seem to remember him doing kids types of movies.

This is just a general question to see if others out there that love watching the show as much as I do. I tell friends and family about it and I havent seen any other fans out there. most people say things like " No, You watch that mess?" or "What's that"?
