ive heard many people bash on it and i was just wondering if it was really that horrible.

I did not like it, but it was fairly entertaining. I LOVED the first film, so this second was quite a let down. The problem with it is that it was just a set-up for the third film, rather than a story in itself. I would reccommend seeing it, especially if you are interested in seeing the third film (as it will make no sense otherwise).
When I watched it a second time with friends, however, I found it much more entertaining. Perhaps because I wasn't expecting much? The acting is just as great as the first, Johnny Depp is completely entertaining, and the new characters are pretty fascinating. Disney seems to be going with a more Three Stooges Jack Sparrow than the more calculating pirate we saw in the first film, which is not to my taste. I am hoping they will amp up that conspiratorial aspect of his character for the third film.
Overall: Rent it, but don't expect another "Curse of the Black Pearl"

I LOVE the second movie. I may actually love it more than the first- Davey Jones is such an awesome character. There are some awesome fight-scenes and great laughs. I think a lot of people were turned off by the ending... but I think its great. I hope you decide to rent it, and that you enjoy it!

ok
the first part of it's good. It's interesting, not as good as the first movie though. It's very different from the first, the characters have changed, Jack is WAY more evil, and it kind of changes the mood. It's still funny though.
Although, the end is REALLY annoying for reasons that I cannot give without spoiling it. But, you can make up your own decision. Watch it.

IT is A FANTASTIC movie and i LOVED IT !!! and it made me fall hard for the Fabulously sexy and talented Johnny Depp !!! i just LOVED him as "Captain Jack Sparrow" !!! and i was so excited waiting for the second movie to come out on dvd and now i own both of them and im SOOO Happy !!!!!!! its NOT horrible at all !! its' got lot's of great action and its FREAKING Great !!!

I didn't like it at all, Captain Jack acted way to Fem. to be a haggard pirate. The fight scenes were not very good, and the overall movie was way to "Disney", and outlandish.
