A man in a hot air balloon realized he was lost. He reduced altitude and spotted a woman below. He descended a bit more and shouted, “Excuse me, can you help me? I promised a friend I would meet him an hour ago, but I don’t know where I am.
The woman replied, “You are in a hot air balloon approximately 30 feet above the ground. You are between 40 and 41 degrees north latitude and between 59 and 60 degrees west longitude.
“You must be a republican,” said the balloonist.
“That’s right, I am,” replied the woman. “How did you know?”
“Well,” answered the balloonist, “everything you just told me is technically correct, but I have no idea what to make of your information, and the fact is I am still lost. Frankly, you haven’t been much help so far.”
The woman below responded, “You must be a democrat.”
“I am,” said the balloonist. “How did you know?”
“Well,’’ answered the woman, “you don’t know where you are or where you are going. You have risen to where you are on a lot of hot air. You made a promise which you have no idea how to keep, and you expect me to solve your problem. The fact is you are in exactly the same position you were in before we met, but now, somehow, it’s my fault.”

Which one(s) of these Southern states do you like best? Least? Why?

My picks:
Best --
-Tennessee, Alabama, Texas: All have A LOT OF geographical and horticultural diversity, great economies, and the friendliest people.

Okay--
-Arkansas: not a bad state, but it's way too flat in the eastern part. Just not for me.
-Virginia: absoultely gorgeous, but the people are kind of hateful; although, since it's on the I-95 Megalopolis corridor, that's to be expected, and they aren't really any less friendly than people in KY.
-Louisiana: Love the swamps, but not much of an economy, and a high crime rate.

Worst:
-Kentucky: Sure, it's beautiful, but the girls have awful attitudes, the state is rather boring, and the people are rude, impolite, and have absolutely no manners. It's awful! And all of those classless, redneck UK fans...annoying! "It's that friendly"...yeah right!
-Florida: it's dirty, flat, boring, and I can't stand all of those upper east coast transplants...also rude.
