I can't think of the word that's in the back of my head.

Not Persistent, not tenacity. But another word...relating to someone who keeps standing back up despite being knocked down.

I want to know about words that are used in common English, not specialty fields like medicine, science or engineering. Also, no names, abbreviations or acronyms. I’m looking for real words with a definition.

I was going through my version of Industry Analysis. I saw that there was a section witht the title 'Drugs & Pharmaceuticals'. When I was going through the website of Ranbaxy, I found that it had made mention on only Pharmaceuticals. Is there a difference between Drugs & Pharmaceuticals when it comes to R&D, Manufacturing and Distribution? Is there a difference in the composition? I went through the wilipedia website and there seems to be no difference.

I was watching "What Not To Wear" a while ago and it drove me crazy that they kept saying "a pant", "a jean", "a boot" instead of "pants", "jeans", "boots", etc.

Since then I've noticed one or two other people saying it too. It sounds weird to me, especially with the boots and shoes, because unless you only have one leg, you're wearing two of them!

Is this some sort of recent phenomenon? Is it correct?

Since you'd say "a pair of jeans," shouldn't you use the plural form?
