in my school, we have something called hall and float and each year there's a different theme. this year unfortunitly the theme is star wars and i have to come up with the saying on the back of the t-shirt. i'm having a bit of a mental block, any help? it needs to relate to star wars but still be witty and semi-competitive if possible.

I'm looking for a passage that I believe is in the Bible that refers to bragging. The reference that I am searching for says something about not boasting about the number of times you pray per day. Does this ring any bells with someone "out there"?

I looovve quotes....especially really deep ones.

And i can never seem to find them on my own.

Heres an example...its one of my very faves: "Life is a prison, Death a Release"

Im not exactly looking for sad ones like that...but any deep ones you find would be appreciated

With a link, if possible. Thank you.

The Poem:

WE wear the mask that grins and lies,
It hides our cheeks and shades our eyes,—
This debt we pay to human guile;
With torn and bleeding hearts we smile,
And mouth with myriad subtleties.

Why should the world be over-wise,
In counting all our tears and sighs?
Nay, let them only see us, while
We wear the mask.

We smile, but, O great Christ, our cries
To thee from tortured souls arise.
We sing, but oh the clay is vile
Beneath our feet, and long the mile;
But let the world dream otherwise,
We wear the mask!

Questions:

1) What is meant by "And mouth with myriad subtleties." i don't really understand it.

2) and when he says "We smile, but, O great Christ, our cries
To thee from tortured souls arise. " do you think he is make reference to Jesus because Jesus died in a very painful way?

Thank you.

“It isn’t the desire to abide by the law that makes everyone behave as society requires, but the fear of punishment. Each one of us carries a gallows inside us.”

“People want to change everything and, at the same time, want it all to remain the same.”

“She had just realized there were two things that prevent us from achieving our dreams: believing them to be impossible or seeing those dreams made possible by some sudden turn of the wheel of fortune, when you least expected it. For at that moment, all our fears suddenly surface: the fear of setting off along a road heading who knows where, the fear of a life full of new challenges, the fear of losing forever everything that is familiar.”
