In the spirit of St. Patrick's day, I am dying to have a corned beef and cabage dinner. I am by myself, so cooking a whole dinner seems silly. I've had a bad dining experience at RiRa, so I would rather not go there. Does anyone know of any place that I can get "take-out" or sit and eat by myself without looking like a loser? I am willing to drive out of the city, just as long as there is easy parking!

We had 8 people in a classy Chicago place this weekend, got really crappy service from the waiter, but because there were 8, we had a manditory percentage added to our bill. Why should we have to pay extra for someone to treat us like crap?
Tips began as an extra bonus because someone did a great job. We shouldn't be expected to pay the wait staffs' salary......... A tip should be for someone that's done a good service.
Do you agree??
And secondly, why do I have to pay a higher gratuity when I pay more for a meal? Does that mean the waitress at, say, Denny's doesn't work at hard as the one at a fancy, pricey place?

I went to a place last night, and the food was great, service was great, and I tipped 20% on my bill, but a guy came around 3 times to check the coals on top of my hookah and make sure it was smoking ok. It seemed like a very 'tip-worthy' function, but I wasn't sure how to go about it, where to put the money, or what. Just handing it over seems out of place. Leaving it on the table would be ambiguous. Maybe the waitress shares a percentage, like with the table bussers? I have no idea.

What's the normal tipping etiquette for hookah service? I want to do the right thing, but I'm not sure what it is.

thanks

Kevin

Is it just me? or does Shoneys put the Gravy in the wrong place on the bar?
My wife & I went there this morning. They have the biscuits first, then the gravy. Aftter that, it is Eggs, cheese sauce & then the fried potatoes.
I think the gravy should be set after the taters
What do you think?

Why is it that every restaurant I go to has cheese sticks as an appetizer, but they cost like $8.00 or something, this is ridiculous.
