La Traviata Italian Bistro
(512) 479-8131
314 Congress Ave, Austin, TX
Our table was right by the window, and yet managed to be very private. Our food was very, very good. This is the perfect "night on the town" restaurant: you can cross the street and go straight to the Elephant Room for some jazz.
Carmelo's
(512) 477-7497
504 E 5th St, Austin, TX
It was a fantastic experience.....italian style....from the complimentary valet parking to the recommendation and of course.....last but "definitely" not the least...the wonderful italian accent..... Everything was authentic...I loved the food there.....my pasta was a "huge" thumbs up..... The pastry cart was awesome....it was truly sin city all over again....an experience to be savored....
Spaghetti Warehouse
(512) 476-4059
117 W 4th St, Austin, TX
Be sure to try their "Wedding Soup" which is actually chicken noodles but it's the BEST EVER.. I can't wait to go back again! :D
Capitol Brasserie
(512) 472-6770
310 Colorado St, Austin, TX
Very good food and above average wine list. Frog legs were great as well as the mussels. I'll definitely return! Try the patio seating if any is available...a hot spot for people watching.
Tree House Italian Grill
(512) 443-4200
2201 College Ave, Austin, TX
Romeo's
(512) 476-1090
1500 Barton Springs Rd, Austin, TX
Everytime I've gone there the foods always slightly luke-warm. One thing I must say the atmosphere is always nice and the servers are always very friendly. Since the food would be better if it was warm-going here is not a total loss.
Taverna
(512) 477-1001
258 W 2nd St, Austin, TX
The food was OK, but this place is one of those high-priced, no food for your money restaurants. Everything is alacarte - no salad with your entrees, etc. My wife and I each ordered an entree and barely got full because the portions were miniscule. No salad, no appetizer, no drinks, no dessert - and we paid $35 to get out the door. Don't know if I'd go back.
Arirang Sushi & Noodles
(512) 480-2250
616 E 6th St, Austin, TX
Piccolo Italian Cafe
(512) 476-5600
2828 Rio Grande St, Austin, TX
Piccolo Italian Cafe is a true Austin treasure, and is just another example of why we need to "Keep Austin Weird". The food is true to its Italian roots and is comparable to the food found at much more expensive restaurants.
Vinny's Ten-O-Three Cafe
(512) 482-8484
1003 Barton Springs Rd, Austin, TX

A good Italian restaurant is never a chain restaurant. ie; Macaroni grill, etc.
You know you are at a good Italian restaurant when you can smell the Garlic Aroma out in the parking lot when you arrive.

Olive Garden. I go there all the time, & I love it! Get a caesar salad with fresh parmesan & order alfredo sauce to dip the breadsticks in. It's delicious.
