I'm trying to calculate the return we are receiving on equity investments on a quarterly basis. Would the formula be
(current balance-original investment)/original investment?
Say we invested $700,000 in June 2005. As of June 30,2006 our balance is 1,058,500 would our return be 51%

Would like some advice. A group of us are thinking of investing in real estate together and maybe later branching out into more things. Not sure if the best bet would be to individually invest and keep it separate or if we should form a business to do so. Advice? Thoughts? Any professional advice would be helpful.

I have been given share options by my employer, but I don't have a certificate. What I have is a paper contract, and I don't know how I go about selling them. Do I have to go through my employer, as I would rather not involve them if possible.
I have waited the two years that we were told we had to wait before being allowed to sell them.

I'm a financial planner, and EVERYONE in our industry (not just our company, but our industry as a whole) that I have talked to believes Suze Orman is an idiot. Peddling really bad information. I'm not exagerating either...not one person in our industry that I have visited with, likes what she has to say. What do you think?

Since MOST school districts in the USA are doing poorly (and will continue to underperform) can anyone think of a way to invest and profit from this? Local state stock shares? State Bonds? REITs?
