I mean, it doesn't exactly excite the taste buds does it.

It's curious how a question like this brings out the resent and anger obviously felt by some vegetarians and vegans, I didn't mention anything about those eating choices, nor any other food stuffs. I could be a vegan myself for all you lot know, one who just doesn't think much of tofu.

Tofu is OK if prepared correctly. Gross if you try to make a substitute for some other food out of it. The big problem is that they have found that tofu and all soy products increase aggression in human males.

I'm waiting for some wisea__ lawyer to cook up a 'tofu defense' for a capitol crime.

Don't know what a Billy No Mates is, but you have to marinate tofu or cook it with seasonings to excite the taste buds, ya know. I mean, would you eat meat without seasoning it? No. Same with its substitutes--you have to flavor it and cook it right.

I made stir fry with tofu marinated in garlic and soy sauce. I fried it in olive oil, added the veges and put it on top of rice vermicelli.

Then I gave some to my husband and his two friends who were over and they were amazed at how yummy it was. My hubby didn't even know it was tofu. He said he thought it was chicken.

So my answer would be no - you wouldn't be billy no mates.

Not tofu per se, but certainly the crowd of nutters that tofu attracts will leave you Bill No Mates with "normal" people.

The great thing about tofu, it takes flavor very well!
If you maranade tofu, it tastes great.
As far as the texture, it depends on how you prepare it!!

I looked up "Billy no mates" and I still don't know what you mean.

It's meant to be cooked with other things. I don't think I would eat plain pasta either.

I don't what that has to do with having "no mates."

Depends how you cook it. It has no real taste so it depends on spices and sauces and how you cook it. I had a vegetarians delight at my local Japanese Hibachi and it was incredible. However I have yet to master cooking it so I don't.
