I saw some jam once and it said it was not suitable for veggies cos it contains petcin. petcin is made frm fruit right? so why is it non-veggie? seems odd........

i cant remmber about gelatin but i said specifically-

It is certainly vegetarian, as pectin is derived form the cell walls of plants. Because most commercially available pectin is isolated using chemical processes, some strict Vegans might object.

Pectin is a plant ingredient. I had to have been other ingredients that made the jam non-vegan. It probably also contained gelatin.

So it must have contained other sneaky ingredients, which the seller didn't want to identify. Like pigs trotters.
As an aside, once I bought some tacos, and they tasted awful, I mean awful. I could taste animal tallow in it, yet it didn't list animal fat, only that it contained fats, and it had a value for saturated fat. Once I saw that, I threw out dem chips.

Pectin is a fruit based gelling agent & sometimes used a thickner.
100% VEGAN.
Was there gelatin in the proudct?

Pectin is safe for vegetarians. It could be another ingredient in the jam that's not veg-friendly.

sounds very odd...I think you've read some false information, or maybe the maker also included gelatin...
