I do not understand how to do the following problem:

Nitrogen dioxide reacts with water to produce oxygen and ammonia.

4NO2(g) + 6H2O (g) → 7O2(g) + 4NH3(g)

At a temperature of 415°C and a pressure of 725 mmHg, how many grams of NH3 can be produced when 4.00 L NO2 react?

I asked this question eairlier and someone answered:
"1) Calculate the # of moles NO2 that are in 4 L of gas.
2) The # of moles NO2 will equal the # of moles NH3 produced.
3) Convert the moles to grams and you will have your answer."

However, I do not not know how to calculate the number of moles of NO2 that are in 4 L of gas. Can someone please explain how to do this, or provide the answer. THANKS VERY MUCH.

I have a 30 mL solution of PBS at a pH of 7.40 open to atmosphere (at 25C). I bubble 5% CO2 through a tube until the pH stabalizes to 6.48. Does anybody know the Ka value of adding a weak acid (ie CO2) to a buffered system? How would I incorporate the Henderson-Hasselbalch equation to find changes in CO2 concentration over time with one known (pH)?

Can anyone explain what happened in this lab? I'm totally confused about the results.

So we did a lab in class today where we collected three test tubes of ethyne gas. One tube was full, one was half full of ethyne gas, and one tube with 1 cm of gas.

We collected the gas by reacting CaC2 in water to collect the ethyne gas, meaning that nothing else should be in the test tubes except for the gas.

When we held a flame near mouth of the FULL tube, there was a small pop and a little bit of residue near the top of the test tube, meaning that it was incomplete combustion.

The half-full tube resulted in ALOT of residue, meaning alot of incomplete combustion.

The 1 cm tube resulted in a very loud pop and no residue (complete combustion).

I was assured that the results are correct, but I can't figure out why the half-full tube left alot of residue, yet the full tube only left a little bit of residue.

Also, how would I write the combustion equations for the half tube and full tube?

i just want to make sure i have the right answers!!

so we used Rolaids: $3.58, and 150 tablets.

25 ml of HCl used
1.475grams is the mass of tablets
2.3 ml of NaOH used
Molarity of NaOH 1.02

1) Moles of base used (M NaOH X L NaOH).
