Is there anyway too keep certain players from retiring such as emmit smith in his 1st year he retires and i would like too keep him however every time i play a season i keep losing him to retirement is there anyway like in NFL 2k5 i can keep a guy for one more year thanks

I received Sega Genesis Classics for PS2 for Christmas and fell in love with Phantasy Star 2. The only problem is the battle scenes with the flashing red screen. Seeing as how the battles are a big part of the game, I am disappointed to have to admit it, but I most likely will not play the game anymore. Does anyone have any advice?
