I posted this in the Weddings category, and didn't get much in the way of helpful responses, so I'm really hoping to get some good input in another category.
The plan is that we will hire a babysitter for the evening (possibly two), to have them coordinate fun stuff for the kids who'll be at the wedding. They'll be in a room that is attached to the banquet hall, and will all be fully visible to their parents, and they'll all be entirely allowed to go back & forth between rooms. The concept is not to exclude them from the wedding festivities, but instead to give them something to do that's a bit more interesting for them than a bunch of speeches by grown-ups they've never met!
What do you all think would be appropriate activities? We will need to avoid anything that might cause problems with the carpet (no play-doh, glue or paint). We probably also need to have a balance between quiet-time activities, and physical activities.
Ideas???
