Board Games

Does anyone know how to seriously imporve their chess game? I know all the tactics, like the fork, skewer, discovery, etc, i've read tutorials, how-to-guide, i've had advice from friends. i've practiced, and practiced, and practiced. but i can never win a game against any of my friends. they simply laugh at me!

More specifically, the secret mission risk. What happens when two people complete their mission at the same time? For example, what if someones mission is to conquer south america and asia, whereas the other person's mission is to destroy the blue army. When the first person takes the last country in asia, but it is held by the only blue guy left. What happens?

i log in and then I am suddenyly disconnected by Yahoo chess. It has been happening since the past 6 months. I used to play like 10 games every day and now can not even complete a single one without a disconnection. So far I have tried two different computers.

Since a change was made in the last week I cannot get to the bottom of the Literati screen. I can't see the last score. I have tried moving the screen but it doesn't help.

I also cant see what im typing at the bottom of the game board page. My settings must have been changed somehow.My text size is set on the largest size and so is the game resolution.
