We played "apples to apples" at Thanksgiving. There were 11 of us. Absolutely the most fun for a group!! Target has this game.

Cranium is a great game to play. It's family friendly and there's something in it for everyone. It has something for the 'brainy' people of the group as well as the 'artistic'. It's our new family favourite.
Pictionary is also fun. You don't have to be able to draw, you just have to have an imagination and a sense of humour.
Telepaths is also a great game to play. It's interesting to see how people from the same family can think so differently (or so much the same)!

Here are some Family games I grew up with that could be fun:
Monopoly (why: learning about rel estate and Economics), Risk (learning about strategy and war), The Game of Life (learning about the chances and probabilities involved in life), Trivia Pursuit (learning about history, sports, arts, etc...), and so on.
Card games are fun too- like Hearts, Canasta, Crazy Eights, Rummy, etc...

Balderdash or Battle of the Sexes. Depending on everyone's interests, the Scene It games are really fun.

Scattegories is one of my all-time favorites!
I just got introduced to Apples to Apples on a family vacation and that was really fun too!
One I don't like - Pictionary - too many arguments over that game.

Someone recommended that i get "imaginiff". ITs actually pretty fun and funny. Basically its a game were you ask "imagine if" questions to each other and choose the best answer you think best based on the other persons personality etc.

Apples to Apples is a great game for older people to play together! We played it with our family on a trip to Oregon recently and it was the highlight of the trip! Youll laugh alot I promise!

try a railroad game called "Ticket to Ride". You may have a little trouble finding it, but check out www.daysofwonder.com for the nearest store to you that sells it. Trust me on this, the game is rated really highly by everybody who has tried it.
