Talking specifically about Ricky Gervais and Extras. The episode with the girl who had MS, the jokes about midgets, black people etc etc. I realise we are supposed to dislike Ricky's character for making these remarks and there is a sense of irony and poking fun at idiots like his character but it is offensive isnt it?

Seems that comedy goes in phases where certain jokes are socially acceptable. Its Weird! (but i do find the show v funny!)

I watch Passions and occasionally look at Days of Our Lives and Bold and the Beautiful and have wondered this.

If soap operas are supposed to be life-like, then it should show characters using the bathroom.

I often see Indian or Chinese dancers used on the BBC as link pieces or part of programs (eg the kids' program 'Autumnwatch' on CBeebies in the morning). But if the beeb are so keen on multiculturalism, why do we not see much in the way of Arabic or Islamic music?

Not all Muslims adhere to the fundamentalist doctrine that music is sinful, but we only ever hear about the ones that do think so, and the lack of arabic music on tv surely adds to this one-sided perception and stereotypes all Muslims as fundamentalist.

Arabic and Islamic music has a rich and diverse history. Why no representation in the same way as other cultures?

Loved all the series except for Voyager and Enterprise. Enterprise was like Star Trek for Dummies and Voyager played the mirality card too obviously IMHO. Favourite Next Gen - I think because of Patrick Stewarts acting.

A new series? I heard mooted one was in the pipeline which was going to be full of battles which would be great. Please bring it back! (bit lost without my fix! although love The Sopranos and NYPD Blue)! Bit sad arent I! ha ha

I had seen commercials that he was guest starring tonight but I had completely forgotten -mostly because the case was especially disturbing!
What had happened to the little girl was so ugly and then everything going on with the homeless man was really sad.
Then half-way through they clean him up and it's Jerry Lewis! I didn't recognize him at all!!!

I thought this was the best SVU episode in a long time!
