...he pulls a knife but, in a lightning fast move more fluke than skill, you manage to push him away before he can swing at you; shocked, you watch as he falls back to crack his head on the pavement and is stone dead in the blink of an eye.
From a previous story you saw in an old local paper you relaise the man is a repeat offender who always manages to get away with little more than a caution or very short spell in prison despite multiple counts of mugging, armed robbery and even rape, on one occassion. And now he's in front of you, dead.
You look around at the deserted street; definitely no witnesses or cameras. You aren't from the neighbourhood so no passers-by would notice you hop in to a nearby bus, and it's November so you're wearing gloves; no forensics either. You used to date a police officer anyway, a long time ago, so you know what to look for and you could get away scot free.
So do you just walk away and forget it ever happened or call the law?
