I believe that you should pursue what is meaningful to you in life...For example, if you like to help others, you could be a volunteer or a counselor. Helping others also give you a sense of well being and overall satisfaction
Also you might think, if I could be rich and party all day and night, Wouldnt I be just happy? Well, you can say so...But if you're going to party all day you will just have a sense of guilt that you are not doing something productive in life, and you will just get bored and unhappy at the same time.
Also, do not get overly engrossed on problems. Think about it, you life is just about 80 years, it is miniscule compared to the billion years of the universe. Your life doesnt affect the grand scheme of things....
Forgiveness is also everything…
Think about this little story, a boy has been abused by his father…When he grows up he abuses his son and the cycle continues, he leads a miserable life and blame it on his father for causing him emotional and psychological hurt and he engrossed himself in misery, also his family life would be in shatters cause of his impulsive behaviour.
On the other hand, he can think that when he grows up he is not going to do that to his son as he knows fully well the effect of abusing. Therefore he is going to love and care his son and his sufferings would then cease to exist and will even help his future generations from suffering any more abuse.
Also happiness is all in the mind…
You can say, why am I not as pretty as that girl? And get sad about it. Well, there will be people more beautiful then you and also people uglier then you…Why am I not as rich as that guy, same application…Also, try to be more social if you don’t socialize much…have a variety of friends and talk to them, human beings are social and if you are social happy and likeable then most likely you are a happy person…
