(Just to let you know, I didn't rhyme words on purpose.)
Velvet clouds pass overhead like a child's mobile.
Snowflakes begin their silent downward spiral onto my face.
I’m paralyzed from this loss.
I can’t help but question my fate.
Engraving your name into the snow,
Recollecting my shattered thoughts of you.
I know the new snowflakes will fill and erase the etched words,
But the memory will sustain.
I walk alone through the twinkling forest,
Frosted tree limbs chime bearing crystal ice.
The sun is stagnating beyond the skyline,
And the yellow dusk illuminates the frozen blanket of ice.
My exhalation brings a puff of ghostly white vapor.
No resonance but the crunch of snow beneath my feet.
Wishing for a sign,
The nostalgia overcomes my body.
As I collapse and descend gracefully to the Earth,
To gaze up at the cloud patterns.
There is nothing and no one to look up to,
But the snowflakes falling silently onto my face.
.......
Please be honest.
