they way i see it, people in life have 2 options:

they can see a person the way that they were then and see them the way that they are now. no growth, no getting to know someone all over again, only past reference.

or:

they can recognise a person they way that they were, see them the way they are now, and encourage them to become what they could be... and its by looking at the best points in someone that they reach their massive potential

even though i am always realistic and dont base things on false pretence, i always try to see the best in people - even those that i find repulsive (i have a family member like that)... it has taught me to become a more tolerant and understanding person.

Thanks :o)

Yes I do.

I also try to teach it to my daughter as well.

Sometimes when somebody behaves a certain way, you have to look at that person, and the life he/she is leading/ or has lead to that moment. That people are often a product of the environment they grew up in or are in at the moment.

You have to try to see the good in people and understand why they are the way they are.

I used to, until I spent two years focusing on the "best" in my lying, cheating exboyfriend. Now I look for reality instead.

Yes I do. I just try to accept people for who they are, and most people will reciprocate. There are always a few ignorant lingerers of prejudice that make it better to remain indifferent.

I try. Sometimes it is so freakin hard though and you can only look for the best for so long.

I try, but sometimes the goodness is hidden by a thick coat of something bad...like preppiness, for instance.
