Very often certain songs have specific memories attached to them. That's the great thing about music; a song can be a mini 'time machine' that can take you right back to time in your life. They're not always good, but most of the time, they are.
"Baker Street"- Gerry Rafferty - summer of '78. My 1st summer at sleepaway camp. It wasn't a total departure though. My mom worked there. :)
"Life's Been Good"- Joe Walsh (ditto)
"Listen to the Music" -Doobie Bros. Reminds me of my dad, for some reason. I have a vague memory of him whistling along to it.
"Only You"- Yaz- The very 'forward' girlfriend I had at camp in summer of '85. She put this song on & kissed me for the whole 3:10. A Very cheesy, "80s movie" moment for me! lol!
"A Day in the Life"- Beatles- me & 3 other childhood friends pretending to be the Beatles! We had a cheap (probably Radio Shack) tape recorder running while we "sang" it & banged aimlessly on a piano in the room. I WISH I still had that tape.
