how does it work? do songs get signed aswell as the artist or isit all with one label?

Recently I heard an alternative song on the radio and the singer(guy) mentioned elvis name. I forgot how the song goes but i think the song was about how people follow popular trends and doesn't follow their own judgement.

What a Wonderful World

Well for me it was in the 1st grade, and i thought it was a recent song! boy was i wrong. i was really amazed and inspired. now im a sophomore in HS and i still look back on those times (the 90's for me) and wish we could go back to it.
