There is a song I absolutely love! It's called "Patrona Bavariae" the version I have is by Inntal Duo. I think it's in German.
Here's a couple of my favorite Chinese songs: (I hope they're spelled right, I had to find out how to write them in English letters, sorry, I don't know how to do the accents in YA).
Ni Cong Na Li Lai Wo De Cong Wo by Mao A Ming. This is in Chinese. Don't worry, it isn't screechy like Bejing opera; she has a beautiful voice!
Here's another (this one might be "cheating" because it is a western song translated into Chinese)
Hong He Gu (sorry, I don't have the singer's name)
If you listen to this, you might find it familiar, in the U.S. it goes by the name: Red River Valley.

I listen to stuff from all around the world. Four international hits immediately come to mind, though:
Artist: Etienne Daho
Song: Weekend à Rome
Classic 80s hit from the king of French pop.
Artist: Angelique Kidjo
Song: Wombo Lombo
This downtempo funk hit by the Queen Of Afropop (from Benin) was remade into a slammin' house track by Junior Vasquez in 1996.
Artist: H.O.T.
Song: We Are The Future
This global hit by South Korea's answer to the Backstreet Boys won the American MTV Video Award in 1998 for Best International Video-- despite being sung 99% in Korean-- and kickstarted the K-pop trend into overdrive.
Artist: Kotoko
Song: Re-sublimity
This theme song to a popular Japanese anime film is gorgeously crafted trance-pop.

I really love the Swedish version of "SOS" by ABBA. And Heart (my fave band) did two songs in Spanish "La Mujer Que Hay En Mi" (The Woman In Me) and "Te Quedaras Por La Manana", which is the Spanish version of "Will You Be There In The Morning". The two Heart songs are my favorite.

I love Jacques Brel... particularly the songs "Ne Me Quitte Pas" and "Les Bonbons". In French (with little bits of Flemish thrown in).

Two by Garmarna, a Swedish neo-folk band:
"Herr Holkin", in Swedish, from "Vengeance",
and "Virga ac Diadema" in medieval Latin, from "Hildegard von Bingen",
and "Gilvve Gollat" in North-Sami (Lappish) by Mari Boine, from "Radiant Warmth"

In Spanish class we listened to a Latino boy band (I guess that's what you could call it) called Reik. I actually thought their songs "Noviembre sin ti" and "Invierno" were pretty good. Juanes and Ana Torroja were good, too. :) Look them up on iTunes.
