I can't figure out the name of this song. I think it's from the 70s or 80s but at the beginning of the song there is a harmonica making the noise of a train engine.

I know three that might be what you are looking for. All have the harmonica doing the train bit.

1) 1979 - "Train Train" - Originally by Blackfoot
Montgomery Gentry sang it in their video around 2004.

2) ??? - "Orange Blossom Special" - Johnny Cash

3) "Wabash Cannonball" - Jerry Reed was the last to record this great song originally done by Roy Acuff.

Hope these are helpful. They all are great tunes done by great artists.

Train, Train-Blackfoot
Long Train Runnin'-Doobie Brothers

My guess would be Train, Train by Blackfoot which has a little harmonica solo at the beginning. Rick Medlocke's dad Shorty does the harmonica intro.

Cher did a song called "Train Of Thought" in the 1970s. I haven't heard that song in years but I do recall that it starts off with a harmonica mimicking a train.

You need to give a little more information then this. I can think of 2 songs right away with a harmonica in the beginning. But try searching for Boxcar Willy songs.
