What do the # sign mean in musical notation? Its at the very begining next to the trebel clef. I've seen sheet music with out it also and I've seen sheet music with up to 4 hash signs. I suspect it has something to do with scales, can anyone explain them to me?

I'm looking for a song that sounds organic.
Something with none to very little electric instruments.
Not necissarily acoustic,
but something...

Okay, right now "Porcelain" by Moby sounds organic.
It may be very electric, but it SOUNDS organic.

For example: Regina Spektor. I recently downloaded her song 20 Years of Snow and her piano work is amazing. I want to broaden my library of musicians but I want to know of some really talented kids if you get what I mean. It could be contemporary or older, just something refreshing. Thanks a bunch!

I think the women in the song is saying "run awaayy" or it COULD be "fly away" and thats all the woman says at different intervals. It sounds like some sort of chime instrument could be playing the melody that comes after the women sings

It has this line in it :- "Daddy's got a squeezebox , Momma doesn't sleep at night."
My guess is Bob Seger and The Silver Bullet Band , but , I think I' m wrong .

I listen to everything, but he says his fav. bands are:

"bob Marley, as i lay dying, Simon and Garfunkel, Matt Redman, Killswitch Engage, Tom Petty, most Mozart, the David Crowder band, John Davis, lotsa jazz, tons of blues, Opeth, the Beatles, NOTHING LESS THAN SPECIAL, Aerosmith, Steppenwolf, Something Corporate, SRV, eve 6, blue October, the Buffalo Springfield, that song about snoopy and the red baron.."

Me and my friends Ash and Jake are in a school band (Shadows Of Darkness, or S.O.D for short) and we've done a lot of rehearsing with the same songs, which were chosen by students at our school, but the Gifted and Talented co-ordinater and headmistress have decided that we have to do more modern, mature songs from our age group. We've spent three weeks preparing for the concert, and have perfected all our original songs, and we don't want to disappoint our audience and at the same time, we don't want to be expelled for saying that we don't want to do the new song list. Please help! We're going to write a letter saying that we don't want to do the songs because we feel that he new songs are for little kids, not teenagers! Does anyone know what we can do, or say in our letter which wont offend our the G&T co-ordinater and headmistress? The new songs are listed with the original songs in additional details if it helps.
