What do you think? What are your thoughts?

Here are my thoughts. First off, he is protected by freedom of speech. This however does not make his comments right. But he should not be fired for them, it is basically saying that he does not have the freedom to say what he wants.

Second, he is not racist, a racist is one who feels they are superior to another race. His comments did not in anyway portrey himself to be superior to those girls. Are they racial remarks, yes! But until everyone comes out and says that rappers should be fired for making songs which are way more negitive against African Americans, then Don Imus should not be fired either, we should all be standing up for his right to speak freely, but making not that his comments were not well received.

Why doesn't Jesse Jackson come out and say he is sorry to the Duke lacross boys for his comments about them last year, wrongly accusing them of rape?

Sure Don Imus said a stupid thing but that's no reason to fire him or drag him "through the mud" so to speak.

Michael Richards, Mel Gibson, Chris Rock, and Snoop Dogg have said way worse things than what Imus said on the air. He apologized and I believe that people need to accept it and get over it. People say stupid stuff all the time.

Chris Rock has said stuff that is worse than what Imus has said...and he still has a job.

Do you believe that people are looking to be offended and have their 15 min. of fame (in the case of the Rutgers U. basketball team)? I mean, if you're that offended about it, say something and then just leave it be. And that goes for both Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson, who have said their share of racial comments.

He promoted his "ranch" where he lived in splendor, his wife's book career where she promotes his cleaning product, his constant promotion of his chubby little red headed son, his hippy brother and his salsa company... Do you think they are all done now? Do you think his career is over?

I have heard Eminem use worse terms for women and he has even dropped the N Bomb a couple of times. Yet, "some"(as in not all) embraced him.. and no one spoke out. Why is that? Clearly Don Imus was just making a comment in conjunction with pop-culture. It's that simple. If anyone see this as a big deal you are either blinded by the media hail storm, brainwashed like every other american, or you are a cry baby *****. OH BOO WHOOO he called me names. Really everyone needs to grow up, lighten up, and grow some balls. Why focus attention on BS issues like this, when our economy, health care systems, are out of control. Why hasn't someone stood up against the injustice of our own government? Black people you only seperate yourselves further. We need to embrace our nation as one of many colors and stop making it a black, white world. This Don Imus stuff is retarded.

Just my opinion on Don Imus being fired and a few questions arising from that....?
Don Imus gets fired over his comments. We hear similar words being used by a lot of hip hop artists all the time. Do
people not find that offensive? If yes, then shouldn't all these hip hop artists be held accountable too? If no, then isn't that discrimination? I know what Snoop Dogg said....we are talking about da hos in da hood and not young college athletes. But what different does it make? We are all human beings....and all laws and/or rules should be the same for everyone regardless of race.....shouldn't there be civil rights for all races then? Better yet, get rid of civil rights and why don't we all live on this planet peacefully and in harmony as one race....THE HUMAN RACE.

here is what she said on her show...HASSELBECK: And we should be concerned and responsible without freedom too.
O'DONNELL: Right, but it's not a freedom if you outlaw certain words or thoughts, because then the thought police come and then before you know it, everyone's in Guantanamo Bay without representation.
***Did she criticize Kelly Ripa for comments she made to Clay Aiken...Kelly to Aiken "I don't know where those hands been..."
