Come on people, I'm nosy. I want to know the daftest accidents you've had. :)

A couple of years ago, I was at a friends' house making soup. She handed me the potato peeler, warning me that it was very sharp. I mean, this really was a beast of a potato peeler. It was practically industrial-sized. Still, I took my first slice at the potato, and noticed that it had turned red. Puzzled, I looked at my finger and saw that I had sliced the top off it, and blood was pouring down my wrist. Strangely, it didn't hurt, but my friend panicked and drove me to A and E with the rest of my finger pumping blood into a tea towel.
Once there, they injected some local anasthetic and tidied the rest of my finger up a bit. All the time my finger was bandaged, people would ask what I did, and I would have to mumble:
"Potato peeler", and walk off leaving them puzzled.

Andrea Boccelli sings an Italian song entitled 'Mi Manchi'.?

Although it sounds a little as though he is singing "Me Monkey", it's a beautiful sounding song never the less (well it is when he sings it anyway), but I really don't know what he is actually singing about, so I am wondering:-

Firstly, I can't seem to find the word 'Manchi' in my Italian dictionary, so are there any Italians or Italian speakers out there who can translate the title into English?

Secondly, whilst I can only imagine that it is a romantic song, he could be singing about emptying the dustbins for all I know, so does anyone please know what the song is actually about, and is it possible to translate the lyrics into English?

It isn't important that the English lyrics fit the music. I would just like to know what story the song tells.

what are the newpapers in your area like? are they still newpapers or tabloids?

I'm in new york and pretty much every news paper expect for maybe the new york times has turned into a tabloid and the reading level has dropped to about 1st or 2nd grade, they've even gone so low as to have slang in headlines now, which is usually about a celebrity ... is this happening where you live?
