does anyone remember this song about a snake and a....?

'tender woman'? Life keeps sending it to my memory. I remember it as a very young child - (I'm 50 now), that it was a song that played on the radio. I use it often when I'm trying to explain to people about how hard it is to override nature - eventhough it can be done, it is pretty close to impossible without some devine assistance.
But the song, does anyone remember the name, singer, etc for this song?
