Could a mostly singing/ dancing primetime drama show be successful on tv?

In the 90s they tried with Cop Rock and Hull High.

I must say I was facinated by the Buffy the Vampire Musical episode a few years back. Not all that great, but much superiour to previous attempts and it worked for the show.
