Everytime I fly ... not matter what airline, the flight attendants always seem so miserable! There's always one that's happy and smiling, but the others are just so miserable, especially on the long haul flights. I mean an 8 hour flight is no fun, but it's there job to make the passengers feel more comfortable and safe ... not make them feel like a piece of crap.

hello everyone, i live in germany and i am terrified of flying!its not that i am only afraid or scared, i am terrified!i flew to usa a few times and i flew to london. well i have no choice as my family lives in the usa!the mom i get on the plane i start to panic!and when i feel we'r take off, i feel like im gonna die.i read books about it, i thought it would help a little but it didnt, getting drunk on planes is a bad idea in my oppinion, but i took some pilly but they never help, even the strong ones don't.well i do know that driving in a car is more dangerous, but it doesnt help if everyone keeps on telling me that. taking a book or something doesnt work, bec i cant concentrate on a plane!as soon as the plane gets in any kind of turublances, i think we gonna crash or something!i wished i wouldnt be that afraid, so i could see my family more often than i do now!i really would appreciate if here are any pilots or people who know a lot about planes, who would like to talk to me! Thanks

Is there a standard for the distance and position that an outer marker is located, or do they just put them where there's room?

Whenever a plane goes down, (or even the space shuttle), there's a big search for the black box. When they find it, they invariably discover the tape with the data has been damaged by heat, sea water, etc. I get the impression they are still using analog tape recorders. It seems to me they could easily have a real-time digital stream of data to the ground. That way, if a plane crashes, they already have all the flight data. Can someone in aviation explain?

I'm not psychic or anything and this sounds so retarted but I had a nightmare last night about a very specific flight that I think is going to crash or have major problems. I don't regularily fly and I haven't seen anything lately that would make me have the images in my dreams...It's flight 719 bound to France or bound from France (or Europe somewhere...I'm not really sure right now) I'm really worried about this...Any advice? Honestly, I'm scared right now...The events were so real. I can't get the sound of the screaming out of my head.

The plane is moving at takeoff speed ( roughly 250mph) give or take while sitting on the treadmill. Will the plane take off?

**note - the wheels arent moving but as you know, there is no front wheel or rear wheel drive axle's like on a car, on an airplane.
