If a black box on an air plane is indestructible then why isn't the whole plane made out of it ?

black box is made of titanium-----mega expensive!!!!----companies wouldn,t be able to do business the way they do now---the amount of planes that crash each year are considered an acceptible loss to those cretins !!!!!---titanium is actually pretty light stuff---the a-10 warthog ground attack plane has what they refer to as --the bathtub--in it for the pilot---its made of titanium---and the black box is actually pretty thin--i own one--i use it as an ash tray!!!!--titanium is actually melted down and poured into a mold!!!!--i got mine from a buddy who works at a place that makes them

than the whole plane would be indestructible and the black box would be obsolete.

actualy think about those plane crashes that arnt so bad where people actualy survive. and then think about a car crash if a car were super hard with no crumple zones and all that good stuff people would take all of the impact and more people would get hurt alot worse. same thing applies to planes.

Because it would not be aerodynamic and therefore would not fly. You can not make a plane in the shape of a box and most of a black box is just sheet after sheet of protective sheilding. Only a very small inner portion of a black box does anything. If it were built in the shape and design theory of a black box it would be far too heavy to fly or even move at all for that matter.

The black box is not black its Orange!! Also its built like a safe, very thick, heavy and reinforced. If the plane was made in the same way it would never get off the ground - but it would be safe!

Because the black box may not be flexible like the alluminum metal used for a plane. People made planes with a special metal that is durable and flexible and could fly while being aerodynamically correct.

Probably because it would cost 'too much money'. I know that sounds ridiculous, but I once asked a person why they didn't split even two-lane roads, and put a divider in the middle and rails on the side, and the person said the same thing, too much money. It's sad that we can't put people's lives ahead of money.

im guessing the material is very heavy and is not energy efficent so it would weigh the plane down and it would be very hot inside with no windows.....imagine traveling in a safe for a couple hours
