The only time in my life I have had issues with my BP is when I'm pregnant. Seeing as how its next to impossible for me to be pregnant right now (Mirena IUC), I found it odd that I was having my high bp symptoms (seeing spots, headache, dizzy, etc). I took my bp and it was 132/94. I'm about to be 27, relatively healthy and in good shape for having a 4 month old. No new stressors in my life right now and I'm not really a fan of salt. Anybody have any thoughts? Thanks.

Thanks for the responses. I took it with both a machine (personal one) and manually and I was relaxing. I only have about a quarter of a cup of coffee in the morning, then water the rest of the day (I'm breastfeeding). No meds (otc or perscribed). I plan on seeing the doc if things do not improve.

Where did you get your BP checked ?? Which arm did you use ?? Are you experiencing any pain or recent injury ?? Many of the BP machines that are located in stores ( pharmacies or even supermarkets) are not always reliable especially, if the machine is old. The best arm to check your BP is the right arm, it is more indicative of a problem. Or,you can always check your BP from each arm.The higher reading is the one to focus on. If you are having pain, for whatever reason, this can elevate your BP and pulse. Has this happened before ?? Do you drink alot of caffeine ?? This can cause an increase in your BP. If you are concerned about your blood pressure, it would be best to visit your Doc and have your blood pressure taken at the office. It's a bonus that you are not a fan of salt but, salt is in just about every food. Read food labels. I hope that this is useful !!

Are you on any medications? Some can elevate your Blood Pressure.
For me the electronic pressure band gives me higher blood ;pressure than the manual one.
I have normally low blood pressure and am a big salt user.
But I drink 6 to 8 16 ounce bottles of water a day to keep my system flushed.
I also get Chiropractic adjustments regularly and the C-3 (the vertebrae at the base of your scull) being adjusted keeps the blood pressure normal.
Just my suggestions. Good Luck. All things change with age. As time goes on you will discover that.

3 years ago, I was diagnosed - hypertension with a reading of 160/100. I used to feel dizzy a lot, my legs had awful cramps, and levels were very low in my potassium, causing my fingers and toes to always cramp together. One day I started to feel really faint while I was driving with my daughter in the back seat and I passed out, hitting 3 cars and ending up in a ditch. That moment,I knew I had to do something because my meds weren't working. I heard about this diet from a friend and thought I'd give it a shot. The results have been remarkable. In just 21 days, I honestly can't remember feeling this good, my blood pressure went from 175/110 to 125/70.

What kind of activity are you doing prior to taking your blood pressure. You would want to be still, and relaxed in order to get an accurate reading. If you have a 4 month old baby it may take alittle more time for your body to readjust from the pregnancy and you might see if get better as time goes on. If not than you might want to speak with your physician. Some people have a blood pressure that rises, and falls often.

132/94 is not terribly high, and probably not a major cause for concern. Keep an eye on it and if it stays higher than you would like, see your doctor and get a few tests done. In particular, a chest xray, ekg, echocardiogram, and some blood work. If you take nsaid's regularly, i.e. tylenol, advil, etc., try going without. Nsaid's can elevate the bp if taken regularly. Good luck.

Sounds like you have prehypertension. Then again, your BP fluctuates many times during the day. Always take your BP more than once. Make sure you are sitting with your feet flat on the floor and legs UNcrossed. Breath normally, and don't talk. Wait a few minutes after the initial check. If it was high during a doctor visit, you should have asked the doctor. You should definitely tell your doctor about your symptoms because they sound like warning signs your body is trying to give you of an undiagnosed illness you may have.
Take care.

The diastolic pressure is the pressure that is left after the pulse of the systolic. So due to the lack of elasticity in the arteries your pressure stays high. This is cause for alarm as you are at risk of stroke or heart attack,
