No it is not, as you pointed out. And you are right ... in Asia soy is used as a condiment not as an entre' or staple food. Shows what ignorance prevails in western vegetarians.

Lets me tell you what I know about soybean and tofu. They are not good when you eat them raw because they contain a bad acid. But when they are cooked, the heat destroyed the acid and what remain is a good and nutritious soybean/tofu. There are a lots of researches that were perform whether should or should not eat one thing. Like people say milk is good, some other say meal is bad. It is just matter what you believe.
That is true that soybean /product made from tofu is not so good for men because it increase woman hormone( that is why cooked soybean/tofu are good for woman~ you know that Japanese woman have less problem in woman illness compare to other countries because they use alot of soy product?)
Btw, most of the time Asian dishes use tofu/soybean when they are really fully cook. I hardly can recall any dishes I had ate in Asia that contain tofu/soybean that were not cooked

There is no unbiased scientific evidence to support your claims.
People in Asia have eaten unfermented soy in the form of unprocessed soy beans and tofu for hundreds, perhaps thousands, of years.
I dislike the idea of GMOs because it may include animal DNA (I'm vegetarian) but there is no solid evidence that it is harmful to anyone. Other foods besides soy are genetically modified; what about those?
If there is such a great danger, why aren't the American Dietetic Association, The FDA and the American Medical Association doing something about it?
My wife is a Registered Dietitian and we attend a conference every year with doctors talking about issues related to health and nutrition. Why hasn't the so-called soy threat ever been mentioned in the this conference for the last four years? A conspiracy, I suppose.

I heard about this long time ago. But I heard also the opposite. So, like all coocked food, like all transformed food, I recommand to not abuse them (not eat too much). The only food who is really healty for us (human) is fresh and raw vegetables and fruits (probably fruits are more than vegetables). Meat is not heatly as well (probably less than tofu, because have many toxin, fat, etc..). Fish are not anymore heathly becauze they contains Dioxine (and a vegetarian dont eat fish, so...).
In asia, they eat LOT of tofu, since many centuries. Specially Japan and I never heard any problems with that. But... for sure... soya is not the best food for us. The best is (once again) fruits.

Soy is generally used in the diet of health conscious individuals. It's advantages are low calorie nutrients in addition to being a high source of protein. I have tried it, but didn't find the benefits were enough keep me from choosing the usual. Somewhere after I had tried it, it came up in conversation. I was told you have to prepare it with seasonings and spices to make it palpable.

Are you asking, as implied in the title, or are you just ranting?

I'd feed my kid tofu before I fed her/him a dead body.
