well, if 40-50 is old enough for you.. then smoke up!! just remember. before you die, you'll slowly suffocate to death for about 5-10 yrs with emphysema. (most likely). But if thats what you want.....
I am a respiratory therapist. so ppl like you are job security. so thanks! :)

Unless you want to quit for what ever reason nothing anyone says will make you quit, however here is my story.
I smoked for 46 years. The last year I smoked I went to the doctor at least 2 times a month with broncitis. Finally the doctor told me I had developed COPD.Well of course I went on the internet and looked it up.While I read the last page I put out my cigarette and and ask God for the strength it would take to quit.I threw the cigarettes in a draw where they stayed for 6 months then I desposed of them. That makes it sound easy but it was one of the hardest things I ever did in my life. That was over 5 years ago and I only wish I had quit sooner.COPD is very serious and you should read about it maybe it will help you see what the future holds. What ever you choose good luck in your life. :^)

There are consequences from smoking that some might find worse than death. Like being tethered to an oxygen tank for the remainder of your life. In that oxygen rich environment, you would have to abandon your cigarettes because you could ignite yourself and all around you. Or breathing through a hole in your throat, blowing mucus with every breath you take. Or, perhaps, watching a child of yours suffer and ultimately die with a lung disease caused by being around your second hand smoke. For myself, I care because I have to pay the taxes that support your medical care while you slowly commit suicide with cigarettes. Don't flatter yourself...I frankly don't give a roaring rats *** WHAT you choose to kill yourself with, as long as it doesn't come out of my pocket.

You may not care that you are going to die, but you will when you are actually dying AND having to slowly die in great discomfort from inability to breathe, tiredness and shortness of breath, every joint in your body hurts when you walk and your chest is in agony when you cough, you gum hurts and you can't emjoy any food - and all your inside in reeks with pain.
It's not the death that you have to worry about. It't the DYING. It is slow and painful.
I hope you are prepared to suffer.

40-50 might be old enough for you but how would you feel breathing through a hole in your neck? How would your FAMILY feel about that? I hate people who dont give a **** about their life.

You might not care all that much but you might want to think about your family that is going to have to watch you die slowly and painfully from whatever disease that kills you first.

We will all die, nuclear war or not...so smoke. But stay away from kids and don't burn anything. And try to role cigarettes on your own.
