I'm a vegan for my own personal morals
i dont think its right to kill millions of animals, steal their milk, eggs, babies, and even fishing threw factory farming and torture.

BUT i mean, being a vegan, i feel isnt enough
how is ONE person who is vegan going to stop all this

I want to do more and change more, but i have no idea how
Do you vegans out there ever feel the same?
dont you ever wonder how just being vegan isn't helping much?
i mean the tourture is still going to happen and stuff?

i'd just like to know if there is anyone else out there that feels the same

and also ways in which u can ACTUALLY take action and help

thanks

You never know how far your actions might spread, but the reality is that they probably won't change anything. However, Henry David Thoreau once said, "I was not born to make the world a better place-I was born to live."
You, as an individual, can empathize with the suffering of animals and realize that it's something you can't support.
More and more medical research is being done to show the massive negative effect meat and dairy has on a person's body. Not to mention the risks of mad cow disease and E. Coli., some people are undoubtedly going to question the safety of buying meat and milk that might be contaminated and possibly deadly.
And when more and more people decide to go vegetarian/vegan, there will a large group of us already built up, to provide support and advice for them, and give them all the more reason to adopt a compassionate lifestyle.

I think by being vegan you are helping in more ways than you realize. The effects may not be immediate, but in the long term your being vegan may inspire others to be vegan as well. Maybe just in your little circle of people you encounter in your life you may have a small (or big) effect, then they'll affect the people they meet, and so on. Even if the only being you ever helped by being vegan was yourself- that's not such a bad thing either. You're not bringing death into your life at every meal, that has to be good karma if nothing else. :) Veganism is good for the soul!

Yes, I feel that one person can do a lot to make a difference.

The ripple effect does work. I just lead by example. If anyone asks, I'll give them some info, helping hand etc. But I have a much greater effect on people by just doing what I do -- I have noticed this over the years. At first, everyone thinks I'm going to whither away become weak and die. Being very athletic, my physical performance improved. My health improved. They'd say that it was just a matter of time. Well, getting close to 20 years later... they long ago decided that I was correct. None of my close friends have become vegan like me, but many have changed their diet or felt inspired by me. Actually, it's the strangers I influence the most. Just meeting someone like-minded can inspire. I took my inspirations from others I did not know personally -- just meeting them and seeing what they've accomplished etc. was enough to spur me onward.

I know how you feel... I often feel like I'm not doing enough. But it's important to remember you're helping to reduce cruelty to animals every time you sit down to a vegan meal. There's only so much one person can do and you can't take the burden of all the problems of the world onto your shoulders.

If you want to become more of an activist, there are sooo many different things you can do! See these sites for some ideas / inspiration:

-donate or become a member of PETA, The Humane Society, or a local organization! Peta.com has sections in the website where you can actively e-mail congressman, etc. on certain animal rights issues. (I recently e-mailed a congressman concerning the horrible abuse that was recently unmasked regarding Smithfield Foods).
-by ONE person switching to a meat-free diet, 90 animals are not killed per year. and i feel good about that. :)
- don't preach, but tell others about your feelings if they are willing to listen. post blogs on your website.
I believe one person CAN make a difference because through-out the course of history there have been major social figures who as individuals impacted and changed everything. You could be that person! Cheer up. You are doing something good for the world. If you can't do EVERYTHING, that doesn't make you bad. If Mother Nature gets a little bit of help from each person, it adds up. :)

It is such an intelligent and decent lifestyle. Once people realize that they have been had by the government and meat/dairy industries, they will change their minds about a vegan diet. Bad foods are just another way to keep people sick and strung out on a nasty food addiction and high cost health care. A non-vegan diet is just a scam created by greedy capitalist pigs.

Anyone that is vegan shares your motivations. There is no such thing as a vegan person that doesn't believe that all animals are here for their own reasons. There is a difference between being vegan and just eating a vegan diet to lose weight or for environmental reasons.

Well, by doing vegan outreach and by showing people that there's lots of good vegan food out there, you may convince them to reduce their consumption of animal products. My boyfriend has been veg for over 16 years. Shortly after I went vegetarian, then vegan roughly 6 years ago, his mom had to look into vegan options for when we visited. She eats veg when she visits here, and at home, she eats veg one day a week.

And whether it's due to my influence or not, my mom regularly eats at a vegetarian place in her town. Now, it's close to something else she does, but there are plenty of other restaurants, and she goes there. After a recent visit with me, in which she ate vegan the whole time (it was a very short visit), she's going to try eating vegetarian one day a week.

So you may not be able to convince people to go veg, but if you can get two people to go veg 50 percent of the time, it's like convincing one person to go fully veg*an.

What can you do? Go to an area that's well-trafficked for maybe one hour a week and hand out pro-veg literature. When I leaflet for a local pro-veg group, I like to hand out little recipe booklets and veg-friendly restaurant guides. Experiment a bit to see what material gets the best reaction, and vary your location to ensure different crowds get to see the stuff.

Good luck!

Don't think you're alone. There are thousands of vegan all around.

U belief in the Creator? The "One" oversees billions of people, never forsaken anyone, each lifes are precious for HIM, that's why he created you with the capacity to LOVE and CARE all-beings. By you being a vegan/vegetarian, save thousands of lifes in your life-time. Is it not enough? You may go further beyond. You have the capacity to keep PEACE.

First of all try to "change" your closest one, then your family, then expand the circle of compassion to the society and nation.
