There are many who believe in God but not Jesus. It is not what you believe, but how well you live your life and treat others that is important.
Over the centuries there have been millions of people who have never even heard of Jesus, but maintained a strong belief in God.

Every religion has its own belief but if your speaking in Christian terms then you'd have to refer to the Bible. Jesus said "I am the truth the way and the light. No man get to the father but through me." That doesn't leave a lot of room for interpretation. I also encourage you to read "The Case for Christ" by Lee Strobel. It is a very good book and may clear up many of your questions and doubts concerning God and Jesus Christ.

Don't believe everything that religion tells you. Millions of righteous people perished before Jesus was born. If God denied those people Heaven on a technicality, then something is wrong. These quagmires occur when religions can't agree on God.

EDIT: What missing "o" ?

EDIT: Hey Lee G, kiss my tuchas. I'm a Jew and we don't even have the concept of some eternal burning hellfire and torture, you Christians got that from Zoroastrianism. It doesn't come from us, our God doesn't do that to people. We have reincarnation, always have. So if you want to take your little trip to hell, go for it, but leave us Jews out of it, m'kay?

No. It just means that you believe in God but not Jesus.

According to the Bible it means that at this point in time you are not on your way to Heaven.

1 John 2:22 Who is the liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, he who denies the Father and the Son. 23 No one who denies the Son has the Father. Whoever confesses the Son has the Father also.

Yes. Mark 16:16 clearly states it. Billions and billions of good people are all going to be eternally tortured for thought crimes. What a sick system.

Luke 10:16 ". . . and he who rejects Me rejects the One who sent Me."
Believing in God doesn't save you on Judgment Day. Hell is a place for all who have sinned against God. Take a look at the 10 Commandments to see if you've broken any of them, and be honest with yourself and God. We all have to face a Holy Creator on the Day of Judgment, and we are all in big trouble. So just believing in your judge, won't save you. God must punish sin. Just like believing in the judge in our courts doesn't mean a thing. The judge must execute justice. And God is so good, that He will punish all forms of evil, from rape, murder, to lying and theft.
Also, Jesus said that He is God, so if you reject Him, you reject God Himself. Because they are one and the same.
So you see, we are damned by what we do. That is why we need the savior to cleanse us from our sin. Jesus poured our His lifes blood, and took our penalty for sin . . . death. Repent and trust in Him today, for you don't want to pass into judgment without Him. What love God expresses on the cross!
