I had the following question removed for a violation stating that it was NOT a question. On appeal it was overtunred and EVERYONE has their points back, including ME and I have closed the question and awarded the Best Answer. So NOW, do you believe that a valid question with a valid appeal CAN be successful?

Mom, Yes, reply to the Violation Notice. THAT is your appeal. If that fails then you can go into the forum and do a second appeal. I didn't receive an e-mail notic so I went into the forum to make my appeal. Apparently Lou looked at it and overturned the decision. Make your arguments from the perspective of the Community Guidelines and NOT from an emotional perspective and apparently you'll stand a much better chance.

Shawn, thank you for your kind words. We MAY hold different Religious views but, as you mentioned, ALL are equally as valid and should be treated with respect. Have a very Merry Christmas and the most prosperous of New Years.

Tahuti and Frater. YES, I saw BOTH questions and I believe that you SHOULD appeal them both. They were excellent questions and contributed greatly to the Y!A database. They WERE in keeping with the spirit of the mission goals of Y!Answers and should be restored.

No Morgana, iot was deleted by some Troll and on appeal, they could plainly see that it WAS a question, and a valid one at that. One that 100% fulfilled the objectives of Y!A. I find, that if you word your appeal with the wording directed at the CG's rather than simply whining about "They just don't like me", they're MORE likely to overturn the vioation. In other words SHOW hoe it DID comply with the CG's AND how it meets the stated Mission of Y!A. Keep your personal opinions out of the appeal and you have a much better chance.

It certainly was a valid question in my opinion, but we all know what and who we are dealing with in this forum...
You won your appeal most likely because a HUMAN decided and not that bloody computer...
There should be more of it, congrats...
Brightest Blessings to you Raji... )O(

Well , Yes we can.
I had a question and ten points removed a couple months ago and i appealed it~ and clearly stated why i thought it was a valid question. The question was asking about the placement of my pagan altar. I recieved a letter of appology and was given my points back~ and wait for it......the question was put BACK on the board!
So i guess it depends on who handles your appeal and what mood they are in on that day! LOL!
NEVER~ let a unfair violation slide~ thats all i can suggest,
Blessings for Yule to you Raji~xx Ariel

Glad to hear that you won your appeal!!!!!! it sickens me that people can just report your question and have it deleted just because they believe differently!!!! I may not agree with your religious beliefs but I will never put a person down for there beliefs and I would never report a question just because I do not agree with the religious aspect of the question!!!! I have had a TROLL do the same thing to me and it sickens me!! if someone does not agree with another persons belief that is their choice, but that doesn't make their belief anymore right or wrong!!! We are all entitled to our own beliefs and if someone doesn't choose to believe the same way doesn't mean that your way is wrong!!!!!! best of luck I am glad you won, I am appealing a deleted question as well!! I sent good argument I hope I win as well!!!!!

I've never seen it happen, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't do it. So sorry they removed that question Raji. It was a perfectly valid R/S question. Did they just want it re-stated as a question? If so, that is being really persnickety, if you ask me.

((((((((hugs)))))))))))

Well, after reading your question, and the link you provided....
Yes, Yes , I believe that a valid question with a valid appeal CAN be successful. In Yahoo, it's a rare thing, but apparently it CAN happen.

My most recently removed question was about where you get more Moral Compass if you're Afraid of your God... Funny huh. Any loon who doesn't want to answer a simple question can have it removed. Then ultimately, when my Beatchanter Account was removed, there was no reason given, and there's no way to win the appeal?

That's great news. I had one deleted
and there are a lot of people asking the same question I asked and theirs were not deleted.
How do I appeal? I sent a reply to my voilation notice, is that an appeal?

I just had my first Violation -- had a question about Evolution removed, because it offended someone apparently. It was the same complaint you got -- "not a question." Should I try appealing it, you think?

Maybe the question was a little unclear. Maybe if you put it "What do pagans believe happens after death?" it would be very specific. You wouldn't have to go into so much subtext. That's where keeping in the guidelines gets tricky
