Workers in Japanese Restaurant?

Question

Like many questions on Yahoo Answers, this may seem like a dumb question, but its a question I don't know the answer to.

My partner and I went out for Japanese food tonight. Someone at our hibachi grill area made a comment that all of the workers in Japanese restaurants are really Chinese, that real Japanese people wouldn't come to this country to SERVE Americans, he said that we disgust them. Is this true? Are Chinese people working in, and running Japanese restaurants? Do Japanese people despise Americans? Can you tell the difference between a Japanese person and a Chinese person just by appearance alone?
I don't mean for this to sound in any way offensive, I just am confused.

This is not true.
Certainly a lot of Japanese restaurants are run by Chinese people. It is due to the increasing number of Chinese restaurants, and those who seek to start a restaurant business that want to do something "different" seem to go with the Japanese option since they are familiar with the food culture of the other Asian country.
The reason why you see a lot of Chinese owners is because Japanese people are harder to find in the mid-US or eastern-US. In California region, you will see a lot of sushi restaurants run by Japanese people because there are a lot of Japanese there. In the Eastern side, it is predominantly Chinese or Korean, hence why you probably see more of these people running Japanese restaurants (because Japanese food's popularity is increasing significantly).
Japanese dont despise Americans. You just don't see the Japanese enough in some part of the US. Also, the Japanese don't immigrate to US as much as Chinese or Koreans.
Yes, a lot of Asians can tell the difference between a Japanese and a Chinese person by looking. This is hard to explain. People who grew up with the same ethnic background can tell each other from the way they dress, the way their eyes are shaped, the way their face is structured, etc.
It's like how some Americans can tell the difference between themselves and Russians or something.

Firstly, Japanese workers come with high salaries therefore would not be economically feasible to hire them as kitchen hands in a Japanese restaurant (except as Chef).

Secondly, the Japanese are as racial as everyone else on earth - meaning: there are and there aren't racist like in any race.

Thirdly, Chinese workers are cheaper to hire and some may appear to look like Japanese. To avoid confusion, I'd suggest you think of them as "people" whose descendants have originated from the Far East.

I don't think that ALL Japanese people are disgusted, its just that there are more Chinese people who happen to want to open restaurants that are Japanese. Not every Chinese person has to, or wants to, open a Chinese restaurant, and a Japanese restaurant is a common alternative. Many Japanese people think very highly of Americans, but happen to hold non-food service occupations.

Simply positioned, if the house owners are Asian in descent, they in general best believe different Asian men and women of their companies. Also, many Asian eating places be it Japanese, Chinese, Thai, and so on. are loved ones-owned and so family/peers of the loved ones get jobs first. Finally, one element of ethnic eating places is if there is a shoppers of men and women from that ethnicity (i.e. Chinese men and women going to Chinese eating places), then it could aid if the servers talk the language of the consumers... even as it is particularly handy to uncover Asian men and women who can talk English k ample to serve meals, it isn't so handy to uncover men and women from different ethnic corporations who talk Chinese.

ASK THE waiter/waitress next time you are dining out
if they are japanese and where do they come from in japan,build up your own picture and dont rely on hearsay about anything,is my opinon.

Americans are not very liked ANYWHERE at the moment.
