i think from now on i'm gonna associate the gap with annoying ads on yahoo. it's gonna be a long long time before i shop there again!

somebody needs to let them know that annoying people isn't the way to get people to shop there, and i'm sure many answers users rightfully did.

download firefox if you don't have it
http:// mozilla. com/en-US/firefox/

and then adblock plus here
http:// adblockplus. org/en/installation

(take out the spaces)

when ads show up a little tab comes up on the side that let's you block it or you can right click on it and select block. it got rid of the gap ad for me & all the other annoying ads on this site/other sites

If you run firefox download NoScript. Automaticly blocks flash and java applications as well as many other things and just change settings to allow for the things you want like u need yimg.com for yahoo stuff but it only takes a second to allow something and will get rid of most annoying ads as well as some potenualy harmfull things and things that will take up your bandwidth while downloading useless and pointless animations.

No advertising intended and i have nothing to do with the people who produce or distrubute it but it does work and is verry handy.

Glad to know I'm not the only one who's hating this ad! I've been pausing it every time it starts, but muting my computer seems like a much better idea. Has anyone tried complaining to Yahoo instead of the Gap?

Yahoo is well aware of this and will hopefully remove it soon. There is a thread on the Yahoo suggestion board regarding the Gap ad (you can post a complaint to Yahoo there). Check out the 2nd answer on this question for more info.

Someone said they downloaded a pop-up ad blocker that took care of the problem... for whatever reason, it killed the GAP commercial for them as well. I just turned my speakers down.

EDIT:
Here is a similiar question with some guy's response about the type of adblocker he installed to get rid of it. Hope this helps:

If you download Firefox then install Adblock, you won't have to see or listen to that advertisement anymore!

I wrote an e-mail to Gap Customer Service and let them know what I think. I've already received a reply. Here is their e-mail address:
"gap.com Customer Service"

I use FireFox at home, with the Adblocker, so I never see it. But i'm at work right now and using IE and I still don't see it. Hmm.

ETA: Aw dammit. I turned up the sound on my computer and now notice/hear it.

It is really ignorant and annoying, It doesnt even have anything to do with GAP or selling anything Gap carries. Finally dawned on me to just hit the mute button.

Oh my god I hate this ad too! I had to listen to it while I trid to drown it out with music but music can only get so loud before it kills your ears.
I hope yahoo never allows another ad like this again.

If you're using Firefox, the Adblock Plus add-on will block it.
