I was diagnosed with HSV-1 like a month or so ago after I had a outbreak in the genital area, nothing major only two sores that were not even by eachother. They went away about two weeks later after been treated. I just had another one that came out two days ago, only one sore this time. This time my back I noticed is VERY tingiling, and I'm tired. Is this just a coincidece or is there something else going on?

No, it isn't odd to have just 2 tiny sores.

People always expect genital herpes symptoms to be terrible, but often they're practically invisible to the naked eye. I NEVER get more than 3 tiny blisters, I practically have to look for my outbreaks with a magnifying glass. And they aren't always in one single patch, I can get them in a couple of places in the area at the same time.

When you first get genital herpes, you may notice you don't feel so great with an outbreak. It is a virus, so you can feel a bit washed out and even run a fever, or you may just feel tired.

Alternatively, the fact that you are tired and a bit run down often causes the outbreak. In the first few months I noticed that every time I got run down or over tired, I got the tingling or soreness down my buttock and thigh, though you can also get it in the lower back, anywhere below the waist. It just tells you that the virus is active, and it can often be very active in the first year or so after you catch it.

Some people get a tingle, it can feel like insects running across your skin, or sore skin like you sometimes have when you have a cold or flu, just in specific places.

Right now I have an outbreak of hsv-1 genitally, and I have soreness across one buttock and the back of the thigh on that side. It is also not unusual to get a second outbreak soon after the first. It is nothing to worry about.

That lower back tingling is because the herpes virus is thriving in your sacral ganglia. That's a cluster of nerves in your lower back. So when the virus is active and replicating, you will feel some tingling, and yes, flu-like symptoms are common during outbreaks.

The outbreaks should ease up soon, but if they don't, ask your doctor about taking medications to suppress the virus (acyclovir, valacyclovir, famciclovir).

You can reoccurances anytime you should get on a preventative, talk to your Dr. Usually your first outbreak is the worst , and yes you can get pain in your lower back by your kidney area I do not know why. You can have tingling sensation on your genitals, muscle aches, and fever.
