Candy W, that sounds like a wonderful school. At my school i am lucky if they even have a salad that isnt smothered in meat. If you ask the workers about the ingredients, or ask them to leave off the meat, they are rude and obnoxious.

The school my kids go to, and are soon to be going to do offer a vegetarian meal and if you would rather your child eat a vegan meal you can let the school know and they will make sure your child will get it. I thought that all schools offered the vegetarian meal (other then salad) as a second choice? You learn something new every day. SIGNED!
The school they are in rite now is a public elementary school and the ones they are going to go to once they are ready are public as well. I truly thought all schools had this option now...

Kim N, I and others share a point. I'm not voting for McBush or Palin because they are both complete morons. What does it matter if they killed a deer? If you want to eat an animal it is best to kill it yourself. I'm vegan and know that anti-hunters can make our veg community look really ignorant. Obama probably eats factory farmed meat so why aren't you complaining about him? Hunting is not the problem. Using animals for profit is the problem. Capitalism at its best.

I signed. I really do wish my school had real vegetarian choices. Theres tons of stuff i can eat there but we need more healthy stuff. Like we have cheese pizza, cheese quesadilas. Once in a while we have pretzels and nachos with cheese. There's not much food for vegans at all. (im a vegetarian) We have a salad bar but i would really like it if our school had a healthy special without meat
